Computing

A house that automates itself, a datacentre in the living room.

Two passions holding hands: making the house intelligent with Home Assistant, and giving all of it a solid foundation with a Proxmox virtualisation server. Here I describe how my home laboratory is built, without the marketing.

Why build an infrastructure at home?

It is not (only) about saving money. It is about understanding how things work, keeping your own data in your own house, and having a playground where you can break things and put them back together without hurting anyone. Self-hosting as a hobby, before it is a privacy choice.
